About 3 years ago, while i desperately searched for a new TV show to watch, i came across Shuga...

An MTV sponsored series about about sexy young college friends living in the big city, where friendships are tested, families struggle to make a living and drama surrounding it all. 

The story behind it all is HIV

From the start Ayira, (Lupita's Character) was my favorite; a bold & attractive female student who'd do anything to get back to the financial status her family used to be before her father left.

Several roles later, this Kenyan beauty landed a role in Steve McQueen's oscar-nominated hit movie 12 Years Of A Slave with Chiwetel Ejifor 

Born in Mexico, raised in Kenya and a graduate of Yale School of Drama

Her diversity over the years landed her on the ad campaign for Miu Miu Spring  2014; she is definitely one to watch
